I’ve spent countless hours talking to residents of District 43, and I hear consistent messages. People in the Northwest Metro want affordable lives, quality healthcare, strong schools, safe communities, and a government they can trust. Unfortunately, federal policies continue to drive up costs and create uncertainty. Donald Trump’s reckless war in the Middle East is costing taxpayers billions, his tariffs cost families an average of $1700 last year, and cuts will see 450,000 Minnesotans lose essential food support.

As costs rise across the country for housing, groceries, energy, healthcare, and other essentials of everyday life, I’m working to put more money back in your pocket and make Minnesota more affordable. I want people to have the freedom to live the lives they want, with the support and resources to thrive, not just survive.

During my time in the legislature, we’ve delivered nearly $1 billion in property tax cuts since 2023 to help keep costs down for families. This includes an average $1,600 property tax credit refund for many Minnesotans and a nation-leading child tax credit that will help reduce child poverty by one-third. We’ve launched paid leave for Minnesotans so people can care for loved ones, recover from illness, or welcome a new child without losing their paycheck. We’ve expanded support for first time homebuyers to make the American dream possible for thousands of Minnesotans and helped renters with emergency assistance after the federal occupation.

Yet more needs to be done. I am fighting to keep our hospitals open, lower prescription drug costs, and protect access so every Minnesotan gets the healthcare they need. I support strong schools and access to affordable childcare and early education programs, which help Minnesota kids get a strong start in life and strengthen our communities. I support preventing gun violence by limiting access to dangerous weapons of war. In response to Operation Metro Surge, I will fight to defend constitutional rights, hold federal agents accountable for misconduct, and seek truth and justice for Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

We need to ensure confidence in government. Any fraud against our state is unacceptable. Minnesotans deserve confidence that the government is responsible, transparent, and accountable with taxpayer dollars. Fraud steals resources from the people who need them most and undermines trust. We created an Independent Office of Inspector General to investigate and prevent fraud across state programs. It’s time to ban any politician convicted of fraud in Minnesota from running for office again, and prohibit anyone convicted of fraud from receiving state money again.

With your support, I can continue fighting for these priorities.
