Welcome to my website! With chaos and turmoil in Washington, Minnesota needs to stand as a welcoming place with compassionate policies. We need experienced, effective leadership in Saint Paul, and I am running to be the next State Senator for District 43, which includes Crystal, Golden Valley, New Hope, Robbinsdale, and part of Plymouth.
I currently serve as the State Representative for District 43B. My service as a State Representative has been shaped around listening. On your behalf, I have successfully championed legislation in multiple areas, including elections, public health, consumer protection, local government, education, and public infrastructure in the communities I represent. Yet more needs to be done to build a state that works for everyone. We need to continue investing in our public schools, adopt gun violence prevention measures, fund transit that will benefit the suburbs, and protect our environment.
I have always centered the needs of my constituents, and these are some of the issues you have highlighted. I want to hear what issues are important to you. I hope you will let me know your priorities and we can work together on shared goals.
About Mike
Mike was first elected State Representative in 2012, after serving on the Golden Valley City Council for nine years. As a legislator, Mike has focused on issues related to health care, local government, the environment, and election policy. He has authored many pieces of legislation that have become law.

Mike grew up in our area and has dedicated his life to public service and his community. His parents moved to Golden Valley when he was six weeks old, and they still live in the house he grew up in. Mike is married and has two children, coaching one of them in Quiz Bowl at Armstrong High School.
In his day job, Mike works as an attorney for a nonprofit organization committed to improving public health. He has also worked as an Adjunct Law Professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and the University of St. Thomas School of Law, teaching courses in Legislation and Public Health Law.
